Περιγραφή:

Ο Χρόνος στα αριστερά και (ακόμη) ένας αλχημιστής στα δεξιά, κουτσαίνει και στηρίζεται σε πατερίτσες. Ο Χρόνος, προσωποποιημένος ως οντότητα, συνεχίζει το μονοπάτι του σκυθρωπός και ψυχρός, αδιαφορώντας για τον τρομαγμένο Αλχημιστή που προσπαθεί να του ξεφύγει σέρνωντας τα κουρασμένα μέλη του.
Ο Αρχάγγελος Γαβριήλ τους / μας κοιτάζει, ακριβώς στην μέση του πίνακα, χαμογελαστός.

Chronos on the left and a crippled alchemist on crunches, on the right. The hunted Alchemist tries to escape time by dragging his crippled leg. Time, as an indifferent and stubborn entity, continues its eternal path on its way. Archangel Gabriel is watching, smiling, and standing in the middle.

Chronos à gauche et un alchimiste estropié sur des craquements, à droite. L'alchimiste tente d'échapper au temps en traînant sa jambe estropiée. Le temps, indifférent et têtu, continue son chemin. L'archange Gabriel regarde, souriant, debout au milieu.
